This course is designed for students who would like to develop the skills necessary to obtain an entry level position as a clinical medical assistant. Students learn medical law and ethics, methods of sterilization, universal precautions, assisting the doctor in physical examination, and office procedures. The student will learn how to perform an eletrocardiograph, vital signs, perform veni-puncture, calculate drugs and dosages, and administer medicine under supervision. Students will develop communication and job skills. Upon completion of the course the student is awarded a Certificate of Completion and an Achievement Record.
Students begin their year with theory in the classroom and then are placed in clinical settings for on the job training for the second semester. What an exciting opportunity … entering the Medical Field.
