This course is designed to develop competencies in law enforcement occupations with emphasis placed on the development of attitudes and skills. The course introduces the student to the study of crime and the administration of justice in the United States. The focus throughout the course will be on the realities of the criminal justice system including the police prosecution, courts, corrections, and the criminal justice process, which deals with the disposition of people charged with the commission of crimes. Throughout the course, writing skills and the student’s ability to deal with people will be stressed. Upon the completion of this course the student will receive a Certificate of Completion and an Achievement Record.
